Putting Down the Suitcases
Putting Down the Suitcases

I want to share a method with you that I can't even tell you how powerful it is. It changed my life. I call it the letting go method.
You close your eyes, you sit down, and you visualize that you're walking through a bustling airport. You have a cart full of suitcases. And every 50 feet or so, you pause. Then you consciously choose to take a suitcase off the cart. You put it down, you leave it behind, and you walk away from it.
Now, I don't recommend this in an actual airport. You'll probably get arrested. You have to mind your bags. But just doing this in your mind, you say goodbye to it, and then you just move on.
You go another 50 feet. There are all kinds of people around you. They're getting ready for their flights. And you leave another suitcase behind you, and you continue on your journey. Then another one, and another one.
With each bag you leave behind, you feel yourself becoming lighter and lighter. The suitcases can be anything you're carrying that doesn't serve you anymore. Your thoughts, your emotions, the things you're attached to. You put them down one at a time, and you walk on lighter and freer with each step.
Something to try
Close your eyes, and sit down somewhere comfortable. Picture yourself walking through a busy airport, pushing a cart full of suitcases. Every 50 feet or so, stop. Choose one suitcase, put it down, say goodbye to it, and walk on. Do it again. Then do it once more. Notice how much lighter you feel each time.
It's a way of releasing the burdens you hold, and moving forward. You can try it right now, or later when you have a quiet minute.
Some of you have already started on this path, and for some of you it's brand new. Either way is okay. Just try it and see.
